Pam Adkins Pam Adkins The Symphony League is a volunteer organization of more than 300 men and women who support the Philharmonic and work to promote an appreciation of the performing arts in the community through their volunteer efforts. The League is a Platinum level sponsor of the Philharmonic Master Series concerts and also provides support for education programs including the youth orchestras of the Philharmonic. Long active in the development of talented young musicians, the League continues to sponsor the Arthur Fraser Piano Concerto Competition, now held in conjunction with the Southeastern Piano Festival. Principal fundraising efforts include the First Chair Gourmet Parties held throughout the year, and the Valentine Ball.

The First Chair Gourmet parties are named for the type of party given. The host decides the kind of party he/she would like to give and then co- hosts are asked to assist. All expenses for each party are paid for by the host and co- host. Money made from each party is then donated to the Philharmonic.
