NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Columbia City Council

A public hearing on the following proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in City Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, City Hall, 1737 Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina: ZONING CONFIRMATIONS 3419 Park Street; TMS# 09106-02-07, confirm RG-2 zoning. 718 Dixie Ave, TMS# 09309-06-07, confirm RG-2 zoning. MAP AMENDMENTS 101 Powell Road, TMS# 14500-02-24; rezone from M-1 and C-1 to PUD-LS. 322 S Pickens Street, TMS# 11309-18-13; rezone from RS-3, -CC to C-1, -CC. 1000 Hampton Street, TMS# 09013-03-23 rezone from C-4 to C-4 - DP. (See associated text amendment.) NX932-4 Woodlawn Avenue, TMS# 16501-07-02, -03 and -04; rezone from RG-1 to PUD-R.

3907 Ridgewood Avenue (Cypress Place Apartments), TMS# 09210-11-05; rezone from RG-2 to PUD-R. TEXT AMENDMENTS Amend §17-134 Minimum land area for change in zoning classification or creation of new district relating to UTD (Urban Transitional District).

Amend §17-401, §17-407 and Create new text to permit greater display surface area for large lots, amend permitted height, and provide for Group Development and Interstate Highway signage.

Amend §17-691(b) to add 1000 Hampton Street (Big Apple) as a Group I Landmark.

Written comments regarding an amendment may be submitted to the City Clerk at the Office of the City Clerk, City of Columbia, PO Box 147, Columbia, SC 29217; 3rd Floor, City Hall, 1737 Main Street, Columbia, South Carolina, and the City Clerk will forward such comments to City Council. The City Clerk will accept written comments up to the City Council's second reading of the respective amendment.
