Christmas In Cayce offers a weekend full of holiday cheer

Christmas In Cayce will be ringing in and lighting up the holiday season starting December 4.

It begins with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 pm on Thursday, December 4 at Cayce City Hall. A short Christmas program will include holiday greetings, music by students from Lexington District Two, and a visit from Santa. Participants are encouraged to bring canned goods and non- perishable food items to decorate the Food Tree for the Cayce Cares Food Drive.

Following the tree lighting, the grounds of City Hall will be filled with thousands of twinkling lights and huge light displays. This event is known as the Lights of Cayce.

A community- wide reception will be held following the evening's festivities. The Lights of Cayce will remain illuminated until January 1.

From 6:30 until 9:30 pm on Friday, December 5, the Cayce Historical Museum will hold its 19th annual holiday open house. For the event, every room of the museum will be decorated with trees and crafts that reflect Cayce's history from the 18th century through the present day. The open house will include light refreshments, live entertainment, and tour guides dressed in period attire. The band Black Bottom Biscuits will perform.

A new addition to Christmas In Cayce this year will be living history exhibits held from 4 to 9 pm on Saturday, December 6 on the Cayce Historical Museum grounds. The "War Between the States" Lantern Tours will also take place on Saturday, December 6. All of the Christmas In Cayce events are free.
