RNE teacher receives South Carolina American Legion Teacher of the Year award

Perry McLeod received the S.C. American Legion Teacher of the Year award here in Columbia during the Legionnaires' state convention for his work with the S.C. National Guard and American Legion Post #6 on their "Next Greatest Generation" project.
Three years ago, the S.C. National Guard teamed up with Perry McLeod, a history teacher at Richland Northeast High School, his students, and American Legion Post #6 to develop the "Next Greatest Generation" project. After two school years of filming, his students have produced over 30 oral history documentaries featuring S.C. National Guard Soldiers who have served in the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT).
