Columbia Riding Academy Equestrians shine at Clemson Fall Classic Horse Show

(L- r) Evan Hamilton, Kaleb Kaiser, Elizabeth Flanders, Ashlyn Hamilton, and Erin Blankenbecklor participated in the Clemson Fall Classic Horse Show at the T. Ed Garrison Arena in Clemson, S.C. The T. Ed Garrison Arena at Clemson, S.C. hosted the 2008 Clemson Fall Classic Horse Show November 7- 8.

This completed the show season for 11 riders from the Columbia Riding Academy at Hamilton Stables of Eastover, S.C.

Three families of riders participated:

• Ellen Burden, riding her horse Chiefs Put Out the Fire, took 2nd place in the Academy Show Riders Walk- Trot- Canter classes in both Showmanship and Equitation.

• Riding Daily Graces, Ellen's daughter Julia- Chase rode to a 3rd place finish in the six and under Walk- Trot division for Showmanship and Equitation.

• Clark Blankenbecklor went to the winner's circle to collect the blue ribbon with Daily Graces for the Academy Showmanship Driving class.

• Clark's wife Kathy received 2nd place honors with Daily Graces, riding in the Academy Adult Walk- Trot division for Showmanship and for Equitation.

• Their daughter Erin, on her horse Champion Man in My Life, rode to blue ribbon honors for the Walk- Trot Pleasure 12 and under class. Their winning ride continued the following night as they took the tricolor Grand Champion ribbon for the Walk- Trot Pleasure Stake- 12 and under class.

• Brian Hamilton drove He's Over the Edge to a blue ribbon win in the American Saddlebred (ASB) Fine Harness class.

• Brian's son Evan, and daughter Ashlyn, also brought home two ribbons each. Evan, riding Back In Black, took 4th in the ASB 5- Gaited Show Pleasure class and 3rd place in the ASB 5- Gaited Show Pleasure Stakes.

• Ashlyn, with her horse The King's Sport, collected 2nd place honors in the ASB 3- Gaited Show Pleasure Jr. Exhibitor and 3rd place in the ASB 3-Gaited Show Pleasure- Jr. Exhibitor and 3rd place in the ASB 3- Gaited Show Pleasure Stake- Jr. Exhibitor.

• In the 9- 10 year old Academy Walk- Trot division, Madison Probis carried away 3rd place honors in the Showmanship class and the Equitation class while riding Daily Graces.

• Taking Daily Graces back to the winner's circle was Isabel Reidman when she accepted the blue in the Academy 7- 8 year old Walk- Trot Equitation class. They completed their ride with a 2nd place finish in the Showmanship class.

• Kaleb Kaiser, with his horse CF One Rare Night, took the 2nd place ribbon in the Walk- Trot Pleasure 12 and under class and together they took Reserve Champion in the Walk- Trot Pleasure Stake- 12 and under. Kaleb and his Hackney Pony Poinsettia's Scatt Dragon powered to a 2nd place finish in the Roadster Pony Under Saddle- Jr. Exhibitor class and again in the Roadster Pony Under Saddle- Jr. Exhibitor Championship.

• Returning to the show ring after a small hiatus, was Elizabeth Flanders and her Arabian horse SA Top Secret. The pair rode to the winners circle to collect the blue for the Open Western Pleasure Class.
