While many of the players are short on previous playing time, they are strong in character and have already displayed the ability to compete at a high level. A difficult non- region schedule will challenge the young Falcons and prepare them for region play after New Years.

Senior guard Kvahn Pennix is the clear leader of these Falcons. Having earned solid minutes last season and contributed with a strong defensive presence and a deadly outside shooting touch, Pennix is primed to carry this year's team.

A nice surprise for Flora in the early going has been the emergence of sophomore center Terrance Seagers. After scoring 20 points in his debut, Seagers showed he is ready for the varsity game. Coach Austin Coleman expects a solid season out of his young big man and sees the development of the inside game as a nice complement to Pennix's outside abilities.

Having spent the off- season working extremely hard on conditioning, the Falcons are prepared to take on the new season with vigor and intensity. Flora has also worked on establishing clear roles for the players on the team in order to have a smooth transition into this season. Once the complimenting strengths can be achieved, the Falcons expect to challenge every opponent.

With top- ranked Sumter, Dreher, and Airport all on the non- region schedule, A.C. Flora will be tested early and often. The coaches hope the tough games will build character and prepare the team for difficult region games ahead. The Falcons work hard and are learning to work well together. As the season progresses, a stronger and more resilient Flora team should emerge.
