Miss Samis and Mr. Fellers exchange vows in Charleston, SC
Mrs. Fred Harris Fellers III Lauren Carter Samis and Fred Harris Fellers III were married in the French Huguenot Church in Charleston, South Carolina, November 1, 2008, at 5 pm. Rev. Father Craig Edward O'Brien performed the double- ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stephen Samis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Wiley Hulsey and Mr. and Mrs. James Maynard Samis. She graduated from Casady School in Oklahoma City in 1998 and the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina with a BA in art history in 2002.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harris Fellers Jr. His grandparents are Mr. Albert Henry Burts Sr. and the late Mrs. Sandy Burts of Columbia and the late Dr. and Mrs. Fred Harris Fellers of Columbia. He graduated from A.C. Flora High School in 1997 and the College of Charleston with a BS in business administration in 2001. He is a realtor with Coldwell Banker United Realtors.
The bride wore a strapless Carolina Herrara ball gown with a rouched tulle bodice with a dropped waist and full tulle skirt with multiple layers that were hand painted with a branch and blossom motif with a champagne colored dupioni silk underlining. She wore a cathedral length tulle drop veil by Romona Keveza.
The maid of honor was Katharine Eckles Samis of Oklahoma City and sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Hannah Dunning Sharp of Oklahoma City; Mollie Inez Bennett of Oklahoma City; Jane Elizabeth Murphy of Charleston; and Denise Fellers Hudson, sister of the bridegroom.
Dr. Nicholas Dargan Gee served as best man. The groomsmen were Owen Michael Edwards; Marcus Darby Long, Whitney James Jackson, and Benjamin Townsend Sharkey, all of Charleston. The ushers were Eric Wayne Hudson, brother- - in- law of the bridegroom; Kent Lawrence Regens of Oklahoma City; Clayton Hoffman Smith of Austin, Texas; and Stephen Murphy Taylor, cousin of the bridegroom.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at Drayton Hall Plantation. The couple traveled to San Jose del Cabo for their honeymoon and now reside in Charleston.
