Student wins third place in S.C. Math Poster contest
Sabrina Slone Killian Elementary School student, Sabrina Slone, won third place in the South Carolina Math Poster Contest, in the state in her division. Her poster was on display at the state conference in Charleston, SC. Her third grade teacher, Dana Douglas, received free registration to the conference.
Students at Killian recently participated in the South Carolina Math Poster Contest. A winner was selected from each grade level, each receiving a Wal- Mart gift card.
Winners on the school level had their posters submitted to the South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM). "Building Bridges to Success with Mathematics & Technology," was the theme for the contest.
On the state level the prizes were $100 first place, $75 savings bond second place, and for third place the winner received a $50 savings bond.
