Local standouts receive all- star selections

Flora receiver Carlos McCoy was selected to play for the North in the 2008 SCADA North- South All Star Football game to be played December 13 at 12 pm at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach. He is joined on the team by Columbia linebacker Lorenzo Boyles, and Spring Valley offensive lineman Grant King.
A.C. Flora coach Robin Bacon and Spring Valley coach Quay Farr are assistants for the North.
Richland Northeast linebacker Harrison Oxendine was selected to play for the South team along with Irmo wide receiver Nathan Dorton and defensive lineman Kenneth Westberry. Dutch Fork center Derek Kelly also made the South team. Irmo assistant coach David Bundrick will be an assitant for the South team.
A.C. Flora kicker/ punter Grant Clayton was selected to play in the 72nd Annual Shrine Bowl which pits South Carolina's all- stars against North Carolina's all- stars December 20 at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg at 1 pm.
Clayton will be joined by Brookland- Cayce offensive lineman Dakota Dozier, Richland Northeast running back Gee Gee Greene, Keenan defensive lineman Matthew Johnson, and Blythewood defensive lineman Justin Anderson.
