Ironically, the dog belongs to Garet Fryar, the Wicked Witch. Just in time for Thanksgiving, what better way to remember "There's no place like home?"

The Wizard of Oz will fly into the auditorium at Dreher High School beginning on November 20 and play for four consecutive performances. The wizard will be played by athletic director Michael DuBard.

Dubard will not only take the stage, but also take flight as he leaves the Emerald City. This production at Dreher will feature the Flying by Foy team of professional flyers from Las Vegas! Dorothy will swirl in the tornado, Glinda will descend in her bubble, and the flying monkeys will leap upon the unsuspecting heroes. And don't forget that Wicked Witch of the West as she swoops to steal Dorothy's ruby slippers.

Singing the American favorite "Somewhere over the Rainbow" will be Catherine Davenport (understudy: Abby Claytor) as Dorothy. Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, will be played by both Chelsie Veal and Deanna Watkins and the Wicked Witch of the West by both Garet Fryar and Abby Khushf.

Of course the fun and thrills continue when Dorothy and the Scarecrow, played by William Kana, encounter the Tinman, Zach Hodges. When they run across the Cowardly Lion, played by Dreyshon Wilson (understudy: Jerard Goss), their new friendship begins the quest these heroes must make through all sorts of perils and wonders.

Shows will begin at 7 pm on November 20- 23, with a Sunday matinee at 3 pm with the final show on November 23. Tickets are available at the door for $8 and $5 for children under 17.
