The Heathwood Hall Highlanders were not able to defend their 2007 SCISA 3A state championship, however they reached the finals losing 5- 1 to last year's runner- up, Ashley Hall. It was the Highlanders only loss of the season.

Heathwood Hall head coach Christin Daniel says, "Overall, the girls played excellent throughout the tournament and played the best they had played all season. They remained mentally tough to pull out the Pinewood match and were determined to make it to the finals again this year. Ashley Hall has an incredible team with a lot of depth and talent. I'm very proud of the girls and their accomplishments this year in winning the region and having an undefeated regular season."
