Skyhawk seniors shine on Highlanders' senior night
Hammond 51 Heathwood Hall 28
      On a night when the Heathwood Hall Highlanders celebrated their senior athletes, it was the Hammond seniors that spoiled the evening for the home team helping the Skyhawks beat arch rival Heathwood Hall 51- 28. Hammond quarterback Cliff Ayers completed 12- of- 22 passes for 194 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Eagles aerial assault downs Devils
Airport 41 Dreher 13
      After wind and rain kept their game from taking place under Friday night's lights, Airport and Dreher battled at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, October 25. The Eagles put on an aerial display rarely seen at Memorial with three touchdown passes and a bevy of deep balls to knock off the Blue Devils 41- 13.

Falcons crush Cardinals
Cardinal Newman 0 Ben Lippen 34
      The Ben Lippen Falcons won their fourth game in a row with a 34- 0 drubbing of the visiting Cardinal Newman Cardinals Friday, October 24. On a rain soaked field, the Falcons ran up 444 yards of total offense and held Cardinal Newman to 59 yards total, including 32 net rushing yards on 31 attempts.

Bacon cooking up a new offense at Dreher
Nationally recognized A-11 offense is making its way from San Francisco to Columbia.
      "Road Runner, Road Runner, Road Runner!" come the cries from the Dreher coaching staff and suddenly there are eleven players on the field with numbers below 50. Running backs, wide receivers, quarterbacks and defensive backs take to the field and line up in the strangest offensive ls ientse myoeun have ever seen.

Highlanders fall to Hall
SCISA 3A GIRLS TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP
      The Heathwood Hall Highlanders were not able to defend their 2007 SCISA 3A state championship, however they reached the finals losing 5- 1 to last year's runner- up, Ashley Hall. It was the Highlanders only loss of the season.

Bearcats advance
VOLLEYBALL
      The Brookland- Cayce Bearcats easily advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a three game sweep (25-11, 25-11, 25-21) of Battery Creek Tuesday, October 28. Despite slow starts in the first two games, the Bearcats were able to score in bunches to easily win the first two matches. Brookland- Cayce was led by Kristen Hutchins, Ally Greer, and Alex White.
