On a night when the Heathwood Hall Highlanders celebrated their senior athletes, it was the Hammond seniors that spoiled the evening for the home team helping the Skyhawks beat arch rival Heathwood Hall 51- 28. On a rain soaked field, the Falcons ran up 444 yards of total offense and held Cardinal Newman to 59 yards total, including 32 net rushing yards on 31 attempts. More ... The Heathwood Hall Highlanders were not able to defend their 2007 SCISA 3A state championship, however they reached the finals losing 5- 1 to last year's runner- up, Ashley Hall. It was the Highlanders only loss of the season. More ... The Brookland- Cayce Bearcats easily advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a three game sweep (25-11, 25-11, 25-21) of Battery Creek Tuesday, October 28. Despite slow starts in the first two games, the Bearcats were able to score in bunches to easily win the first two matches. Brookland- Cayce was led by Kristen Hutchins, Ally Greer, and Alex White.
