Palmetto Center for Arts Dance Ensemble and Richland District Two present Cinderella
The Palmetto Center for the Arts (PCA) Dance Ensemble at Richland Northeast High School and Richland School District Two will present the classical ballet
production of Cinderella
on Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8, at 7 pm in the Richland School District 2 Auditorium. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for students, the military, and senior citizens with proper ID, and can be purchased at the box office.
In the title role will be PCA senior dance student, Holly Walters. Her prince will be guest artist Steven Ferguson. Dancing the vain and forward stepsisters will be PCA senior dance students, Marykate Griffin and London Knight. The Fairy Godmother will be danced by PCA freshman Sarah Joan Smith. Young Cinderella will be danced by Katie McCarthy, a fifth grader at Forest Lake Elementary School. The Evil Stepmother will be performed by veteran Columbia dancer, Ginny Hunt McElveen. The Season Fairies will be danced by Mary Katherine Johnson, Lena Jake, Kamilah Coleman, and Laura Dean. Cinderella's pets, Fifi, the French Poodle, and Madeleine, the Siamese Cat, will be danced by PCA sophomore, Akhira Ansari and PCA senior, Shani Alston.
Students from Conder Elementary Arts Integrated Magnet School and from Round Top Elementary School will be featured performers along with faculty and staff at Richland Northeast High School. The role of Queen will be performed by Betsy Kinsella, RNE career prep teacher. Other teachers will be Laura Moore, Pam Bell, and Kimberley Norris- Jones. RNE principal, Ralph Schmidt will reprise his role as the Dancing Master.
