Not even a rainy evening or a soggy field could stop the Richland Northeast Cavaliers as they beat Dutch Fork 30- 6 Friday October 17 at Dutch Fork. The Cavalier offense was led by quarterback Kersean Wilson, who completed six of eight passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Gee Gee Greene led Richland Northeast on the ground with 111 yards and one touchdown on ten carries.

In the first quarter, neither team had much success moving the ball. Dutch Fork was forced to punt twice, Richland Northeast just once. The Cavaliers' first possession ended on an interception by Dutch Fork cornerback Jurell Flippen. However, the Silver Foxes couldn't take advantage of the turnover. Richland Northeast's second possession was hampered by a holding penalty. The first quarter ended with a 0- 0 score and Dutch Fork with possession of the ball.

The second quarter provided some excitement. It started when Dutch Fork's quarterback, D.J. Monroe, was sacked by Cavaliers linebacker Ryan Quarles. The momentum continued with a blocked field goal by Richland Northeast. Unable to capitalize on the turnover, the Cavaliers were forced to punt. However, a fumble from Monroe was recovered by Charles George giving Richland Northeast the ball at the Dutch Fork 26- yard line. On the next play, Derek Frost scored on a 26- yard run. The extra point made the score 7- 0.

Neither team was able to put together another scoring drive for the rest of the half. The Cavaliers held on to the one point lead heading into the locker room.

Richland Northeast opened up its lead in the second half. After a Dutch Fork punt, the Cavaliers scored on a quick three play, 79- yard drive. It was capped off by a 78- yard pass from Wilson to Kenny Upshaw. The extra point made the score 14- 6.

After receiving the ball following the safety, the Cavaliers tried to put up more scoring but missed on a 28- yard field goal attempt. Each team had two possessions each the remainder of the game, but neither turned them into scoring drives. The game ended with Richland Northeast celebrating a big 30- 6 win over Dutch Fork.
