Ben is a very handsome, red, four- to- five- year old Persian cat. He has a very lovable personality. He wants nothing more than to snuggle and to be lavished with attention. Ben is in need of someone who will be willing to love him despite all of his special needs.

He came to Project Pet in 2005 and was adopted to a loving home where he lived until June of 2008. Due to Ben's issues with not using the litter box, he was returned to Project Pet. After many tests and being initially diagnosed and treated for a urinary tract infection, it was determined that Ben's refusal to use the litter box is not due to an underlying medical issue but rather is behavioral in nature. This is an issue that may never be resolved.

It appears that through very poor breeding his nasal airways were severely malformed. Ben was in need of surgery to help with not only breathing trouble, but the continuous upper respiratory infections he was having. That surgery was provided and though helpful for a few weeks, Ben is back to chronic upper respiratory issues and his nasal passages bleed daily. Though you may be thinking it couldn't get much worse, Ben is now battling ringworm in which he has to be isolated from all of his friends that he had previously made while here.

Only the most special person would be willing to take Ben and show him the love that he deserves. Ben is fine with other cats, dogs, and kids…..he just needs a home.
