Thirty-something speaks
39 forever
      In case it isn't too obvious, The Columbia Star is celebrating its 45th birthday today, October 24. A little less obvious is this particular day is also my birthday. I'm 39. This birthday has proven to be bit stranger than most. For starters, anytime I tell someone older than I that I've turned 39, they giggle and sarcastically say, "Oh yeah…me too!

      Best Photo. Maybe the most fitting business name I ever encountered. When I first moved to Columbia in 1995, I was waist deep in photography. I owned a nice Minolta body, a few lenses, and negatives demonstrating my artistic prowess. I wanted to enlarge the best ones and frame them. My goal was to have nothing on my interior walls that I didn't shoot.

      Ben is a very handsome, red, four- to- five- year old Persian cat. He has a very lovable personality. He wants nothing more than to snuggle and to be lavished with attention. Ben is in need of someone who will be willing to love him despite all of his special needs.

The cruelest of crimes
      Cops in Florida once told me that some Far Eastern men are very fond of adolescent American girls. In some cases, police fear, the disappearances of young girls may not be runaways as originally thought, but kidnappings. Investigators tell me that in one day, a girl can be kidnapped, driven to a port city, and loaded onto a freighter or airplane headed for the Far East.
