Crayton teacher is S.C. Dance Educator of the Year
      Crayton Middle School dance teacher Katy Strickland has been named the 2008-2009 South Carolina Dance Educator of the Year by the South Carolina Dance Association. Strickland, who has been teaching dance at Crayton for four years, has been dancing since she was three- years- old.

      Flora Student named 2008 Russian Scholar Laureate A.C. Flora High School junior Audra Miner has been named a 2008 Russian Scholar Laureate by the American Council of Teachers of Russia (ACTR). Miner will receive a letter of commendation, a certificate of award, and an ACTR Russian Scholar Laureate pin.

      Furman Lovett began his service this month as Speaker Pro Tempore of the House of Representatives in the South Carolina Student Legislature. The Student Legislature is composed of delegates from every public and private college and university in South Carolina. The Student Legislature prepares model legislation for the State Legislature.
