The Power Company, Columbia's alternative dance company, opens its ninth season with Where Do Dances Come From? October 24 and 25. The professional contemporary dance company will present their annual cabaret show in a nightclub setting. Known for their skillful mixing of art and fun, The Power Company will address the often asked question, "Where did that idea (for a dance) come from?" Ecee/artistic director, Martha Brim, who emceed last year as the memorable "shakti cowgirl" Ameoba Smokestack, will introduce a new character this year who will unravel the myster ious process of making weird and wild contemporary dances. The performance will be held at the Columbia Music Festival Association's Art- Space at 914 Pulaski Street in the Congaree Vista and begins at 7:30 pm.
