The Brookland- Cayce Bearcats got back to their winning ways by sweeping the Dreher Blue Devils 3- 0 (25- 10, 25- 13, and 25- 13) at Dreher Thursday, October 9. The Bearcats continue to get strong performances from Alley Greer and Alex White. Dreher received great efforts from Tikka McNeal and Erin Hollier.

In the first game, the Blue Devils kept the score close. They tied Brookland- Cayce on three different occasions, the last being at 5- 5. Then the Bearcats took control by scoring the next seven points with scoring led by Greer making the score 12- 5. Despite Dreher's best efforts to keep the game close, Brookland- Cayce got big points from White and Candice Shice to pull away 19- 9. The Bearcats scored the last six points to complete the rout, 25- 10.

Game two showed progress from the Blue Devils. They gained early leads of 3- 2 and 5- 3. However, they couldn't hold back an intense Bearcat attack. The Bearcats scored five straight points to take an 8- 5 lead. Dreher fought back, maintaining the deficit at just three at 11- 8. Just like the first game, though, the Bearcats went on another scoring run. They scored five straight points and nine out of the next 11 to take a 19- 11 lead. McNeal tried to keep the score close for the Blue Devils, but big points from White helped put the game away for B- C, 25- 13.

The final game saw Brookland- Cayce put the game and match away early. Behind scoring from MacKenzie Cleland and Kristen Hutchins, the Bearcats opened up an early 5- 1 lead. However, mistakes by the Bearcats and scoring from McNeal helped Dreher close the deficit to 7- 6.

Just like before, the Bearcats went on another run to mount a 21- 9 lead. Again, Hutchins, Cleland, and Greer provided the big points. Hollier and McNeal provided scores of their own for Dreher, trying to keep the game close. However, White provided two of the last three points for the Bearcats to close out the game, 25- 13, and the match, 3- 0.
