Highlanders swamp 'cats
Laurence Manning 21 Heathwood Hall 41
      The Heathwood Hall Highlanders amassed 367 yards of offense as they rolled to a 41- 21 win over Laurence Manning Friday, October 10. The Highlanders received a strong effort from quarterback Mac Whalen. The junior quarterback threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the Highlanders in rushing with 157 yards on 13 carries and three touchdowns.

Skyhawks back on track
Cardinal Newman 6 Hammond 42
      Cliff Ayers threw for 339 yards and three touchdowns, and Les Cotter ran for two more as the Hammond Skyhawks defeated the Cardinal Newman Cardinals 42- 6 Friday, October 10. Hammond (6- 1, 1- 1) scored on its first six possessions and did not punt until less than three minutes remained in the game.

Mustangs stampede Blue Devils' homecoming
Midland Valley 14 Dreher 3
      The Midland Valley Mustangs scored on their first possession of each half to outpace Dreher 14- 3 on October 10 at Memorial Stadium. The Blue Devils' homecoming celebration was dampened as the Mustangs controlled the ball and the clock for most of the game.

Cavaliers swat Green Hornets
Aiken 14 Richland Northeast 24
      The Richland Northeast Cavaliers fell behind early, but came back behind the legs of Gee Gee Greene and the arm of Kersean Wilson to defeat region rival Aiken 24- 14 Friday, October 10 at Harry Parone Stadium. The Green Hornets struck first at the beginning of the second quarter with a drive that started at their own 15 yard line.

Bearcats run away with 3- 0 win over Blue Devils
VOLLEYBALL
      The Brookland- Cayce Bearcats got back to their winning ways by sweeping the Dreher Blue Devils 3- 0 (25- 10, 25- 13, and 25- 13) at Dreher Thursday, October 9. The Bearcats continue to get strong performances from Alley Greer and Alex White. Dreher received great efforts from Tikka McNeal and Erin Hollier.
