Mississippi Blues is HOT

I really enjoyed Warner Montgomery's article about traveling to Clarksdale, Mississippi, in the most recent issue of

The Star. We took our son there last year for the Sunflower Blues & Gospel Festival and just had an absolute ball. The folks we met were so great, the music was just, well, no words can describe all the great blues artists we saw, not to mention the Ground Zero Blues Club.

Man, I loved the fried green tomatoes. Anyway, our son does so love the blues, especially Elmore James and Robert Johnson . We just HAD to drive to (one of) the grave sites to "visit."

The people were so nice, in fact, that one of the "juke joints" actually let him plug in his guitar and jam a while even though he is only just beginning and has taught himself everything so far. I enjoyed the article and really want to go back soon (maybe when it is only 90 degrees instead of 106!!). Sherri McGowan Columbia, SC
