U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings named 320 schools as 2008 No Child Left Behind- Blue Ribbon Schools on September 9, 2008. St. John Neumann School Catholic School (SJN) was among those honored.

SJN qualified for the honor based on the achievement of student test scores in the top 10% of the nation on nationally normed tests. Though the standards for the award have become more stringent, this is not the first time SJN has "seen blue." The school was selected as a Blue Ribbon School winner in October, 1999.

Two additional significant achievements for SJN this year:

• Accreditation from SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools)

• Fidelity Award from the International Alliance for Invitational Education

Saint John Neumann is a Catholic School located in Northeast Columbia. The student population is 370 in grades preschool through sixth. The school is an educational ministry of the Parish at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church.
