The National Youth Scholar Program is designed for second, third, fourth, and fifth grade students who exhibit academic achievement and a high degree of leadership potential.

Cameron was nominated by his third grade teacher, Dyisha Taylor, to attend the week long program at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. During his stay, Cameron had the opportu- nity to explore criminal forensics and employed various scientific skills to solve a mock crime.

Cameron met other high achieving peers from across the country during his attendance at the NYSP summer academy.

When asked about his summer experience, Cameron stated, "I really enjoyed going to NYSP. Some other students and I got to solve a crime and that was neat. I really hope that I will get to go again this summer."
