•Teacher Josh Drews has been named the 2008 Secondary Art Educator of the Year by the South Carolina Art Education Association.

•Gordon Alexander, Dominique Johnson, Terrica Payton, and Danielle Wilson have been named as National Achievement Semifinalists.

•The Spring Valley Viking Softball Team will be sponsoring a Golf Tournament on Sunday, October 26. The Golf Tournament will begin at 1:30 pm at Northwoods Golf Course. Any interested person can contact a softball player or Coach Matz at Spring Valley High School for more details.
