Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott opened the 2007 Out of the Darkness walk. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will host Out of the Darkness community walk October 19 at Riverfront Park, Columbia, to raise money of AFSP's research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, and assist survivors of suicide loss.
