Matlock and Mr. Peanut
      I had the pleasure of living with my granddad, Miller Montgomery, for four months back in 1993. He passed away a few years later. I was so grateful for that special time I had gotten with him, but I can't say it didn't come without a few amusing moments.

It's not a criticism, it's an observation.
Can't everything just stay the same?
      Things used to be so simple. I could grab a bag of Cheez- Its and a Michelob, turn the TV to Keith Jackson on a September Saturday, and relax, knowing ABC would give me football without any unnecessary frills. After the game was over, I could relax with a glass of milk and a few Oreos; the world was fine and I was in tune with it.

      Digger lives in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and he loves to party. The Gipper's Place near the beach is his favorite hangout. This particular night Digger is too far gone to drive. His friends tell him so, but Digger will not give up his car keys. He staggers out of Gipper's, walks to the parking lot, flops into his Blazer and takes off.

Nelson Mandela's one-term presidency
Commentary
      By African standards, Nelson Mandela's decision to enjoy only one term as president of South Africa, and to voluntarily step down, is quite abnormal. Normal behavior after spending 27 years in prison with hard labor would have been to reward himself with life presidency.
