Mayor's Walk Against Domestic Violence
Mayor Bob Coble and Councilwoman Tameika Isaac Devine are hosting the 2nd Annual Walk Against Domestic Violence on Saturday, October 11, 2008. This walk is FREE to the public. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the walk will take place at 9 am at Finlay Park (930 Laurel Street).There will also be a Free Information Fair at Finlay Park from 9:30- 11:00 a.m.
SisterCare will also be doing a Drive for the victims of domestic violence during the month of October. They are in need of paper products, such as paper towels, diapers, Kleenex, and toilet paper. They also need household supplies, like clothing detergent, Lysol, Ajax, dish detergent, Pine Sol, soap, etc. Please do not include hygiene products. The two drop-off locations are City Hall (1737 Main Street) and Washington Square (811 Washington Street).
