Shot, rescued, and recovered...
Tyler Tyler is a wonderful new addition to SQ Rescue. He wandered up to a family home with runny eyes and nose, and a bulging red eye. He was a horrible sight. SQ rescue was called in. Tyler was taken to the rescue facility and was neutered, vaccinated, and wormed.
When Tyler was examined by Dr. Ng at Northeast Veterinarian Animal Clinic, it was found he had a hole in the roof of his mouth. This hole also went up through his nose where food collected. The vet suspected he may have been shot. Tyler's wounds had healed badly.
Dr. Ng wasted no time in making two appointments; one with Dr. Michelle Waschak of the South Carolina Surgical Referral and the other with an eye specialist from Charlotte. The specialist responded the same day with a course of treatment for Tyler's ulcerated eye which cleared up within a couple weeks. Dr. Waschak successfully performed surgery repairing the inside of Tyler's mouth and nose and removing some loose teeth.
Little Tyler is doing fine, although he had to return to surgery for an additional minor repair. He is being rehabbed at Bluff Run Kennels on Bluff Road owned by Alex and Gay Carroll. He will be fed little meat balls three times a day by hand until his surgery has healed.
Throughout his ordeal, Tyler has never stopped wagging his little tail. This sweet dog with a huge personality is recovering nicely.
Tyler will be ready for adoption in three weeks, when he will be well enough to start his heartworm treatment. After that, he will be hearty and back to being happy little guy eager to join a loving family.
