Thirty- something speaks
Bedtime, a time for aches, pains, and pig food
      My oldest daughter, who is now a fifth grader, can go all day without noticing an ant bite on her ankle. But suddenly, and without warning, the most miniscule of ant bites becomes a raging, festering, insanely itchy, massive welt that requires immediate and drastic attention right after I've tucked her into bed at night.

Please forgive my ancestors
      The man had a trombone stuck to his mailbox. Rick and I couldn't help it. One day when we were bored, my brother and I decided to investigate the trombone in the mailbox. I was six and Rick was four, so disaster was imminent. But we couldn't hear the background music rising to a dramatic level, so it wasn't really our fault.

      An American couple was arrested in Bern, Switzerland, held incognito for three days, and then released. The news of their arrest and release was withheld from the public record for 28 years, and only now are we finding out what happened.

Sad news
      Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.

Ignore non-interference and rescue Zimbabwe
      The European founders of national sovereignty did not envisage a ruler would spring up and mercilessly torture or kill his subjects and tell outsiders with impunity not to interfere in his country's internal affairs. In Europe, sovereignty is respected and cherished. Their citizens are happy with the rule of law.
