Locally grown produce in Northeast Columbia

Contributed by Sandhill Research and Education Center

Fresh, locally grown produce is available at Clemson University's Sandhill Research and Education Center in Northeast Columbia.

In its second season, the Sandhill Farmers Market is open every Tuesday through Nov. 25. Most vendors are ready to sell at 3 pm and stay until sold out. Just enter the property at 900 Clemson Road across from the Village at Sandhill and follow signs to the market.

Local fall crops such as apples, sweet potatoes, pumpkins and leafy greens are beginning to come in. Consumers will also find other fresh local vegetables, meat, poultry, eggs, butter, milk, cheese, honey, homemade breads, sweets, and other baked goods. Also shop for plants, fall flowers, shrubs, and wool yarn, socks and blankets.
