Photo by Jim Covington Otho Pool celebrates his 90th birthday with friends and family. He served as a Private with Army Company B 394 99th Division at the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 and 1945, and he helped re- start the Smyrna United Methodist Church in Elgin. Otho Pool is truly and American hero.

Pool is now the chaplain for the S.C. Chapter Battle of the Bulge and the Gideons in the South.

Family and friends gathered Sunday, September 21 to celebrate Pool's 90th birthday, officially September 22nd. The celebration included 90 cupcakes baked by Pool's daughter, Rebecca Carrion, teacher of the year at Conder Elementary.
