The British Car Club Midland Centre's annual fundraiser to support Camp Kemo and Columbia Parks & Recreation, will be held October 5, 2008, 10 am to 3 pm at Finley Park, downtown Columbia. Spend an afternoon perusing antique models, listening to music, and eating amazing food; all for a good cause.

Deadline to apply for a 2008- 2009 Fellowship Award from the S.C. Arts Commission is October 1. Artists may apply for an award in visual arts, craft, dance performance and dance choreography. Applications and guidelines are available at www.southcarolinaarts.com.

Trustus Theatre will be filled with guitar amps, microphones, and drums on Monday, September 29, as they host Rock The Vote: In the Vista. The doors for this special concert event to promote voter registration will open at 5 pm, the show will start rocking at 6 pm, and admission is free. Trustus Theatre is located on Lady Street, behind the Gervais St. Publix. Parking is available on Lady St., and in the Publix parking lot. Marina Lomazov, internationally known pianist and USC School of Music artist- in- residence, will present the opening performance in a series of music and art events 7:30 pm Friday, Sept. 26, at Washington Street United Methodist Church, 1401 Washington Street.

The Spring Valley Festival of Bands will be held on September 27 at Harry Parone Stadium. Admission is $6 per adult, $3 for children ages 6- 12.

City of Cayce and CMC Steel South Carolina will host the Congaree Blues Festival October 4, 11 am, at Granby Gardens Park, located in the City Hall Complex at 1800 12th Street.

The University of South Carolina Southern Exposure New Music Series kicks off the 2008- 09 season October 4 with a performance by the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). The 7:30 pm concert will take place at the University of South Carolina School of Music recital hall at 813 Assembly St. The event is free and open to the public.
