One night after defeating St. Joseph's in Greenville, the Lady Cardinals had to travel to Heathwood and face their rivals. However, compared to the previous night's five- set affair that was tense and tight throughout, this match against the Lady Highlanders was relatively easy.

The Lady Cardinals (5- 2, 3- 0) started the match by winning seven of the first eight points in the first set behind the serving of Nazley Wilson and Alex Watson. Cardinal Newman was not really threatened in the first set and won it handily, 25- 13.

Heathwood (1- 7, 1- 5) came out quickly in the second set behind the serving of Cecilia Dupret- Bixio and won seven of the first nine points. After a timeout, however, the Lady Cardinals came roaring back, and after trailing 11- 9, Cardinal Newman scored 16 of the next 18 points to win the set 25- 13. Denise Jeanmougin and Erin Zander led the charge with some well- placed kills. The third set was never in doubt, as the Lady Cardinals won it 25- 8.
