Red, white, and blue were the colors of the day at Charwood Country Club as lady golfers from Brookland- Cayce, Dreher, and Gilbert High Schools met for match play. To memoralize the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the golf teams wore the colors of our nation's Standard. The rains predicted for the afternoon held off just long enough for the matches to complete and the girls to pose for a group photo. The spirit of the event was light, with the girls laughing and congratulating each other regardless of team affiliation.

The Brookland- Cayce Bearcats won the match with a combined score of 181 to Dreher's 228, and the Gilbert Indians' 245.

In head- to- head scoring, only the Blue Devils' number one player, Olivia Grabowski, could defeat any of the Lady Bearcats, scoring a 44 on the nine holes of the White course.

B- C's Sarah Johnson had the low round of the day at 42. B- C had four of five players scoring in the 40s with Sarah Johnson, Alyssa Hunting, Kailey Zeigler, and Rebekah Conwell easily handling their matchups.

Coach Roger Smith said that it wasn't their best day, but he would take the win.
