      With three tremendous swings of his leg, A.C. Flora's Grant Clayton connected on three field goals, the last of which came from 49 yards, to give the Falcons (2- 2) a 9- 7 victory over Brookland- Cayce (0- 3) on September 12 at Memorial Stadium.

      The Hammond Skyhawks not only had to watch out for Barons Friday, September 12, they had to watch where they stepped. Several players, including Hammond quarterback Cliff Ayers, were ill making walking the Skyhawk sideline a little tricky.

Orangeburg Prep 37 Heathwood Hall 42
      The bagpipes played as the battle raged between the Highlanders of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and the Indians of Orangeburg Preparatory School. With bagpiper Glen Adams of Palmetto Pipes and Drums playing in the distance and in the stands, the Highlanders held on to win 42- 37 against the tough Indian team.

      Red, white, and blue were the colors of the day at Charwood Country Club as lady golfers from Brookland- Cayce, Dreher, and Gilbert High Schools met for match play.

      Charwood Country Club will be the site for the 2nd Annual Smith Memorial Tournament on Saturday, September 20. A one o'clock shotgun start will bring together an anticipated field of 13 high school girls' golf teams from across the state.

      The Cardinal Newman volleyball team defeated Heathwood Hall 3- 0 in a region I- AAA matchup on Tuesday, September 16. One night after defeating St. Joseph's in Greenville, the Lady Cardinals had to travel to Heathwood and face their rivals.
