Join Pineville Tour Sponsored by The Columbia Star and the North Berkeley Historical Society. October 11. Conducted by Dr. Warner M. Montgomery. For ty lucky people will board a VIP luxury bus in Columbia at 8 am, Saturday, October 11. The first stop will be the historic St. Stephen Episcopal Church (1754) where we will meet our tour guide, Keith Gourdin of Pineville. In Pineville we will visit the historic Pineville Chapel (1810), the Robert Marion House (1905), the J .K. Gourdin House (1925), and the Naomi Martin House (1922). Lunch will be at Lifeland Plantation (1700s). After lunch we will visit Tower Hil l Plantation (1720), Oakland Club (Bluford Plantation, 1700s), and Gen. Francis Marion's Tomb. We will travel from Pineville to Manning for the 6th Annual Francis Marion Symposium. We will enjoy a special Dinner Theater, "An Evening with Mary Ester Videau Marion (the general's wife)" by K. MacNutt and Christiane Swager. We will return to Columbia at 9 pm. The price for the entire tour, including lunch, dinner, and special booklet is only $75.
