Chris Simons, a student at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind, displays ar twork for the ar t exhibi t at the EdVenture Museum. The handshapes in his artwork spell EdVenture in American Sign Language. Approximately 30 pieces of art from SCSDB will be on display during September for EdCeptional Kids Month. "Where Every Child is a Masterpiece" is the inspiration for the arts program for students with sensory disabilities at the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind.
Students from the school's arts program were invited to produce an art exhibit for display and perform during Family Night at the EdVenture Children's Museum in Columbia during EdCeptional Kids Month.
On Sept. 9, SCSDB students will present a fine arts variety show at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the museum.
Their visual art collection will be on display for the entire month of September.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the skills of our exceptional students from across the state," said SCSDB Fine Arts Director Chip Walters. "We are thrilled that SC residents can observe firsthand our students' remarkable talent in both the performing and visual arts."
