The Richland Northeast ladies' tennis team opened its season against the Dreher Blue Devils with a 5- 1 victory Tuesday, September 2. This was a great start for RNE's new tennis coach Bobby Collar who has taken over after long time coach Burns Harris was elevated to the position of school's athletic director. Collar believes his ladies have the talent needed to be a powerful team this year and has hopes of being in the running for a title.

The Cavaliers won five of the six matches as Maggie Lawrence, Emily Theus, Emily Lott, and Molly Shields each won their singles matches. The doubles team of Gracyn Brandon and Carrie McIntosh also took the win in a second set tie breaker against Taryn Close and Shelby McKeown of Dreher. Kaileen Yeh was the only Dreher player to get a win in the match. Results: Singles - Kaileen Yeh (D) d.
