Whether gardening is a full time job or a hobby where you can unwind, put your garden to the test. Richland County's Appearance Commission is hosting the 2008 Appearance Counts Awards sponsored by Woodley's Garden Center.

In an effort to bring "beautification" awareness to the citizens of Richland County, the Richland County Appearance Commission will be giving appearance awards to recognize the beautification, landscaping, and revitalization efforts of Richland County citizens, community- based organizations and businesses. This program emphasizes the importance of beautification through public and citizen investment.

Green thumbs can apply for the award by filling out and submitting an application available online at www.rcgov.us or Woodley's Garden Center.

Winners will receive a $50 dollar gift certificate to Woodley's Garden Center and attend a Richland County Garden Party. The extended deadline for Applications is September 30, 2008 and can be returned to the Richland County Office of Public Information or at Woodley's Garden Center.
