The Spring Valley High School HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Creative Problem Solving Team placed first at the SC HOSA State Leadership Conference in March and went on to compete at the HOSA National Leadership Conference in Dallas in June.

The SVHS HOSA team successfully completed round one, did well in round two, and went on to place fifth in the nation. The national team consisted of Rachel Tison, Justin McDuffie, and Matthew McDuffie. (Rachel filled in for William Wilson who was vacationing in India during the National Conference).

Taylor Niehaus scored a perfect 800 on the mathematics section of the SAT. Rachel Arling scored a perfect 800 on the writing section of the SAT.

Trevor Auman scored a perfect 800 on the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the SAT. Additionally, he has a score of 780 on the Mathematics portion.

Vladimir Plotkin scored a perfect 800 on the Mathematics section of the SAT.

Shivani Agarwal scored a perfect 800 on the Mathematics section of the SAT.

Taylor Hal l, rising sophomore at Spring Valley High School, attended the People to People Leadership Summit at UCLA in July. She was nominated as an Ambassador while attending Dent Middle School.
