Soggy Highlander Jamboree kicks off area SCISA football season

      At the Highlander Jamboree on Friday, August 22, the Hammond Skyhawks squeaked by the Cardinal Newman Cardinals 7- 6 in two quarters of play, and the Heathwood Hall Highlanders blasted the SCISA 2A Calhoun Cavaliers 20- 0 in the final two quarters. Even though Hammond and Heathwood Hall had more points at the end, the real winner was Mother Nature.

Richland One announces 2008 Coaches of the Year

      The ladies took top honors for the 2007- 2008 Richland One Coach of the Year titles. Winners were announced at the annual Richland One Coaches Convocation on August 15. Linda Segars, head girls' basketball and volleyball coach at W. G. Sanders Middle School, was named Richland One's 2007- 2008 Middle School Coach of the Year.
