Hopkins Middle principal receives national recognition for technology innovation

Goler Collins Hopkins Middle School Principal Goler Collins was chosen as one of four finalists for Time Warner Cable's 2008 Champion Principal Award. More than 60 principals nationwide competed for this award which honors principals who support and encourage their teachers to use technology in the classroom.
Collins was selected as a finalist for the Champion Principal Award because of the way he has completely transformed the technology landscape at Hopkins Middle School. He has succeeded in making all areas of technology available to students and teachers, including the use of Smart Boards, computers in each classroom, electronic grade books and an afterschool robotics class.
