Eagle Scout project benefits St. Andrews Park
As part of his service project to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, 17 year old Miguel Charleman created a "little" library at St. Andrews Park. Miguel and his fellow Troop 74 Boy Scouts from Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia, donated shelves, books, and magazines to create "The Little Library at St. Andrews Park." The library is open for everyone during normal park operating hours, but books cannot be checked out.
The Charleman family lives in a neighborhood near the park and has always participated in activities there. Miguel says growing up in the neighborhood helped him decide on his project, "I wanted to do something that was different from other Eagle projects. Ever since I've lived here, St. Andrews Park is the park that I've always gone to, I wanted to give them something else they could do that was fun and educational."
