Post 79 celebrates another successful baseball season

      On Monday, August 4, 2008, American Legion Post 79 in West Columbia celebrated the end of another season of American Legion baseball. This team, which is funded through donations and fundraising by ticket and snack bar sales at the games, included players from Brookland- Cayce, Airport, Swansea, Pelion, and White Knoll High Schools.

Sertoma kicks off Sportsarama

      The 48th annual Sportsarama, the high school football jamboree co- sponsored by Richland School District One and the Richland Sertoma Club, kicks off Saturday, August 16 at Memorial Stadium. Four pre- season exhibition games are scheduled this year with activities beginning at 5:40 pm.
