Tyler Martin led Irmo/ Chapin over Lake City 14- 6 in the opening round of the S.C. American Legion State Tournament in Florence Wednesday, July 30. Martin went 3- for- 3 and smashed a grand slam in the third inning. He had six RBI for the game.

Chad Balderman added four hits, an RBI, and scored twice. Thomas McLeod was 2- for- 3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Gabe Grammer had two hits, two RBI, and a couple of runs scored. Shawn Linebaugh went 2- for- 5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Pitcher Cameron Baker got the win for Irmo/Chapin.

Irmo/Chapin dropped a heartbreaker 16- 15 to Florence in Thursday night's second round action, but bounced back Friday to defeat Spartanburg 22- 21 in a four hour marathon slugfest.

Irmo/Chapin was eliminated Saturday by eventual champion Sumter 6- 4.
