Dr. Chris LaTorre has recently joined the practice of H. Stoney Denny Jr., DMD, PA in Forest Acres. Dr. LaTorre graduated in May of this year from The Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine in Charleston.

Dr. Chris LaTorre and H. Stoney Denny, Jr., DMD, PA Craig Melvin, former WIS- TV anchor, has been awarded The Palmetto Patriot Award on July 30 by Maj. Gen. Stanhope S. Spears, the Adjutant General of South Carolina. The award was given during a surprise reception for Melvin held at the SC National Guard headquarters in Columbia.

Justin T. Diestler has been ordained as Associate Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Irmo. He has moved from from Shiwano, Wisconsin with his wife and two children.

Ben Hoover, news anchor at WHNS in Greenville, S.C., has been named the new co- anchor of WIS News 10 at 6 and 11 pm. Hoover will join WIS on August 4. Heyward Hill of Columbia has been honored by UPS for completing 30 years of service with the company. Lisa Slayton has joined First Citizens as vice president and facilities manager.
