Communing with the canine cousins
      On my recent trip to Memphis to visit family, I made the acquaintance of my Uncle's "Boys," Bennett and Beaumont. The "Boys" are playful hulking old English sheep dogs. Old English sheep dogs are an old and noble breed with a tenacious work ethic and an endless capacity for affection.

Community names Riverbanks Zoo's African lion cubs
      The votes are in, and the pedigreed African lion cubs that were born at Riverbanks on June 7, 2008, now have official names. The cubs, which keepers have fondly referred to by number (based on their birth order) for the past eight weeks, will now be known as Johari, Chuma, Jasiri- Congaree and Lina.
