Carrie M. Zornes Two additional Richland One graduates have been named winners in the college- sponsored 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program.

A.C. Flora High School graduate Rachel A. Grimes was awarded a scholarship from the University of South Carolina. Purdue University awarded a scholarship to Dreher High graduate Carrie M. Zornes.

With the addition of Grimes and Zornes, Richland One now boasts eight total college- sponsored National Merit Scholarship winners for 2008. During the first round of awards in June, the names of six district winners were announced.

The others were Alexandria M. Hammond, Theodore W. Podewil, Anna E. Hegquist, Ann T. Lesslie, Lala C. Ek, and Christopher P. Pruitt.
