The book is a hit list of what's wrong with the country, and Morris also offers corresponding corrective actions suitable to set the country straight.

      Southern Fried Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee top a list of obesity prevalence, states where more than 30% of adults age 18 and older qualify as obese. American Blacks and Southern rural folk, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tend to have high rates of obesity. Colorado was the slimmest state with only 19% of adults qualifying as obese.

Parking garage rates continue to climb
Rate increases indicate signs of a stable Columbia office market.
      Monthly parking rates for garages in Columbia's Central Business District continued to climb from mid- year 2007 to mid- year 2008. As reports of a slowdown in the national economy continued through the first half of 2008, the Columbia office market remained stable.
